3bb. Tranfer maps to GPS using a MAC

Why would you want to do this?

Since you’ve purchased T4A GPS Maps via Downloadable files, and installed them onto
your MAC, you now need to transfer them to your GPS unit in order to use them on your
GPS.


STEP A #

Connect your Garmin GPS Unit to your MAC via USB cable.

Uninstall any previous T4A GPS Maps from your GPS unit. (See here for steps)


STEP B #

Open MapInstall / BASECAMP that you installed, and transfer the maps to your GPS.

Via MapInstall: (Recommended option)

  • Select Device (ie. Choose device to install maps on (ie. internal GPS memory or SD card))
  • Click ‘Customize’
  • Select map to transfer to GPS unit by clicking on tick box to the right of map names
  • Click ‘Send Map’
  • Click ‘Confirm’
  • Click ‘Done’

Via BASECAMP: #

Summary Steps:

  • In Menu: Goto ‘Transfer’
  • Click ‘Send my Collection’
  • Select Device
  • Click ‘Send Maps with MapInstall’ (ie. this will initialize MapInstall)
